The Student Hourly Assistant is responsible for supervising the PVAMU Recreation Center pool and aids the Department of Recreational Sports in delivering an enjoyable experience for the Prairie View Community. The Lifeguard staff provides excellent customer service to members and guests at the PVAMU Pool.
Supervision of the 6 Lane PVAMU Recreation Center Pool and deck during open recreation and swimming lessons.
Demonstrate working knowledge of PVAMU Pool and Recreational Sports rules and regulations? ability and willingness to enforce rules and regulations.
Coordination of opening/closing procedures, hourly pool counts, and all other daily operations
Assist in regular cleaning of the PVAMU Pool, patio and deck area
Attend weekly In-service Trainings and remain up to date on all American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR skills.
In the event of an emergency, provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
All other tasks assigned by the Coordinator of Aquatics and Student Coordinator.
Required Education and Experience:
Presently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
Must be in academic good standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
No prior experience necessary
For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least 6 undergraduate semester hours or 9 graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
