This position provides lifeguard support for a variety of aquatic program needs that will include a lake or pool setting including swimming, canoeing, raft building, and pontoon boat rides for youth, adults, and families. Duties and responsibilities include adhering to protocols set forth by lifeguard certification, site and industry standards, and include opening and closing designated program space, routine cleaning, preparing and stowing equipment appropriately, and patron safety.

Provide patron safety, first aid, and life-saving techniques as needed and in accordance with lifeguarding certification.
Adhere to Bradford Woods Aquatics Operating Procedures, General Policies and Procedures, and Emergency Action Plan.
Prepare program space and equipment including routine cleaning such as skimming the pool, raking sand, removing plants and other hazardous debris from swimming areas, cleaning walkways and docks / decks, and cleaning program equipment.
Provide great customer service and professional attitude when interacting with patrons.
Provide inclusive programming for groups that may include individuals with disabilities.
Work collaboratively with other staff to create a fun and enjoyable camp experience.
Work in an outdoor environment that includes both a 110-acre lake and a 25-yard shallow water pool.
Work in a varied weather environment : sun, heat, humidity, and storms.
Complete incident forms and other written documentation as needed.
Receive and accept constructive feedback and learn from mistakes.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
American Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguarding Certification.
Background and experience working with children or youth in a camp setting.
Possess a Waterfront Lifeguarding Certification, or ability to obtain the certification.
The schedule is intermittent and as needed during the months of May - October each year during weekdays or weekends. Available number of hours changes each week and is not guaranteed.
